Description
In collaboration with Global Recruitment Specialists (GRS), this service is designed to increase the applicant pool of highly-qualified women and developing country nationals. It is most appropriate for positions that are fairly senior, or difficult to fill, or particularly strategic. The center is linked to a highly-experienced headhunter (committed to diversity issues) who will develop a customized sourcing strategy as well as assistance with the job description, screening, and interview and selection process.
Estimated cost
US$8-12,000 per position
Related outcomes/benefits
- Strengthens the ability of Centers to reach the best possible candidates and not bypass a major segment of the supply pool due to subtle, and often unintentional, bias in procedures and practices.
- Broadens the ability of Centers to 'cast the net ever more widely', reaching more regions of the world and tapping into networks of women scientists and professionals.
- Increases the pool of qualified candidates for positions, especially among underrepresented candidate groups (e.g., women and candidates from countries of the South).
- Increases the quality of the selection process through skills building for members of Search Committees, to reduce potential gender and diversity bias in recruitment and to consider candidate skills from multiple perspectives.
- Enhances the visibility and reputation of the Future Harvest Centers as desirable places to work for all potential scientific candidates, and particularly members of underrepresented demographic groups.
